Though I am Young

Though I am young,
I have felt the hand of
Death.
I have watched it
Consume so many,
That I recognize it
Almost instantly.
It no longer leaves me
Feeling alone.
With it
I know that life
Can end almost instantly
And I treat it with
Respect.

With Eyes Closed

Have you ever
Just closed your eyes
And do nothing?
Ignore everything
And just close your eyes.

In the blackness,
Do you not see
Specs of colors flashing?

With a bright
Background outside your eyes,
Everything is tinted red.

A dark background
Outside your eyes,
Everything is darker.
Is it not?

Just relax
And let your
Imagination take
control.

Outsiders View

March 25th 3:18pm 1997, Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey, Michigan, Brenda Jean Welsh-Smith lay in a delivery room in labor with her second child. Nurses and doctors, all outside the room, Brenda’s husband and sister in with her. No sharp pain, nothing; the baby is on the bed. The doctor rushes in to check, Brenda has a second beautiful daughter. They take their new daughter home to a proud new big sister in Boyne City, Michigan. From then on, that baby was one-half of what she was expected to be.
As Heather grew older, her parents realized she was a very quite child, very innocent. Heather was not what she looked like. In front of, people she was an angel, but if she disliked you, things of yours started to disappear. When she started school, Heather showed many personalities. Respect and understanding where the biggest ones she showed. Heather, though young and just beginning life, had shown an interest in what life was throwing around. She became quiet, showed compassion for those she cared for and made sure they did not get hurt. Nevertheless, most of all, she just sat there and watched what was going on around her. Life was interesting to her and she wanted to see as much of it as she could. Her mother thought Heather was the most responsible child in her house.
Yet, as life pressed, Heather took deep interest into reading, writing, and drawing. Reading was her biggest focus for years. Her parents could not keep her away from books. When Heather ran out of books, she took an interest into writing. She once was told, “Reading extends you vocabulary. Your vocabulary extending makes you a better writer.” One summer she wrote over 756 pages and edited it for two years later. Heather has written four stories and plans to make them a series. Drawing has always been  one of her favorite things to do. She could express herself without words and it was easy. Heather still does draw, only she keeps them as easy sketches.
However, Heather has time for her family in her life. She has one full sister, Sierra, one half sister, Kiera, and two half brothers, Tony (Michael Anthony) and Shawn. However, if she calls the oldest half brother, Tony, by what he is it hurts him. Heather calls him her full brother. Many of her pets have been family to her too. When she was younger, five or six, she had three cats. They were her little siblings and one even had 7 litters. Heather’s dad took them to the humane society, upsetting her deeply. Her mom got a Black Lab-Brittany mix when Heather was two or three and it lived with her as a nanny, a friend, a mother, and a pet. The dog passed away a week before Heather’s 14th birthday.
Soon, Heather will achieve one of her goals in life, to prove her brother right. Tony has always believed in Heather; that she was a smart, caring kid. Once, he even told her that he wishes to be at her graduation. Heather lives up to her expectations from him and does it with pride. The second goal Heather has is to be some kind of writer. Poetry, short stories, fantasy, excreta; they all come easy to her. Freestyle poetry is Heather’s favorite thing to write and can sometimes by extremely dark and spooky. Anything that can be twisted into something dark, she can write. Then again, there are just some things, certain reasons, Heather will write dark. Halloween and anger bring dark ideas, everything else, not so much. One of her favorite poems is one she wrote after someone passed away in her family. It can be read both ways and make perfect since.
At last, when it comes to two wishes, Heather is at a loss. She wishes far so much but she knows not to expect any of them to be true. For Heather to name one of her wishes is hard. Many of them bring her two tears that are deeply rooted in her. One of her biggest wishes is for her brother to be able to make it to her graduation. Heather’s brother has always been proud of her, and she wishes to show him he has the right to be proud. One of her other wishes is to major in writing. Heather, for as long as she can remember, has wanted to be a writer. Short stories, poems, you name it, she will write it.
While Heather continues in life, her path becomes clearer and clearer. She may not be the most popular or the most liked non-popular person, Heather continues with her day-to-day life. Everyday changes and everyday is on adventure full of inspiring ideas. Heather works through her goals in life and excels in them with the help of others.

Will You..?

If I die here today,
Will you share the
happy memories?
The things that
held us together?
What it meant
to live in my life?
Who meant the
most to me?

Will you let my family know
How much
I will mess them?
That I'm thankful
for them?
That my life
was given for them?

At my funeral,
Will you let my favorite things be known?
Play my favorite song?
Read my favorite poem?
Say the true things about me
and forget the lies?
Remember the good
forget the bad?

Please, if not for me then do it for you.
That is all I ask of you.
Please, will you?

This is one of my most dearest poems and wrote with love. Written after I lost two very important people in my life. It is what ran through my mind for months after they had passed.

New Beginning

From a few years experience of writing, I have learned to value everything that I write. Well, I am here to share, but things will be linked to another website full of other great writers. Some of who, I envy.
First time with a blog, so give me a chance. Always willing to try something new to improve my writing capabilities. I will try to keep up with everything(sorry if I am a bit slow!)but I'm trying.
Originally, I began writing in spiral note books, and now I have progressed to writing on my laptop and sharing pieces of work with people for help. At times I think it was a mistake, losing work sucks, but it really HAS helped me a lot. Sometimes you have to lose a little to gain a lot.
I will attempt to post some short poems I have written and give writing ideas. Some posting of ways I learned how to write will be posted as well.
Short, sweet, and somewhat to the point, but I hope things are much enjoyed and comments on anything will be appreciated.
~With best of luck
